Hotel Namgyal Villa is situated in SUMOOR village at the (Sangum) confluence of the Shayok and the NUBRA (Siachen) Rivers in the lap of the Mighty Karakorum Mountains at an altitude of 9500ft above sea level. It is the gateway to the famous ancient Silk route to central Asia. The village is centrally located in Nubra valley and is very green and peaceful. The enchanting Entsa Monastery (Hermitage) the Medicinal Hotsprings at Panamik and the Exotic Lovan Lake are situated at a distance of 23 km towards the Siachen Glaciers.  These sites are immensely loved by the tourists especially by the foreigners.
The river rafting and ATBs are also present near by. SUMOOR sand dunes at the Sangum is a favourite of the honeymooners. One can also enjoy double hump camel ride there. The picturesque Samstanling Monastery above Sumoor village presents an unforgettable 20 minutes walk from our Hotel.
The Hunder Sand Dunes famous for Double Hump camel ride is only 35 km away. The border village of Turtuk is 100 km away from here. The most favoured itinerary of our guests is sight seeing of Nubra Valley on the Day of arrival from Leh at around 11 o'clock and spend the the night at our Hotel and embark on the journey to the World Famous Panging Lake directly from Here bypassing Khardongla and the Changla saving one full day. Besides these there are several other historical and geographical Places of great interest to tourists. The ideal time to visit Nubra valley begins from May to September. One has to either book a taxi at Leh or find a shared taxi for the trip.
